CLIENT AUTOMATION SUITE
 |
HP Software’s Client Automation
Suite provides policy-based provisioning and ongoing
automated management of Windows, UNIX and Linux
operating systems.
In combination with other HP Software products, Client
Automation Suite enables enterprise IT organizations and
service providers to provision and manage all the
digital asset layers on servers, desktops, laptops and
other enterprise computing devices. New devices can be
provisioned from bare metal to meet immediate business
demands, and existing production devices can be
re-provisioned to perform new business roles, quickly,
reliably and cost-effectively.
Client Automation Suite supports automated, policy-based
provisioning and management of operating system software
to ensure that operating systems are available to the
right devices and users at all times throughout the
device’s lifecycle. Each device's state is automatically
re-configured as release versions or environments
change, eliminating the need for IT administrator
intervention and allowing for highly personalized IT
environments.
Client Automation Suite’s policy-based image management
utilizes a minimum number of "thin" images containing
only the base operating system for each class of
devices, and prescribes policies to automate the
selection and installation of images, patches, service
packs and applicable applications and content. It
publishes images and patches in a controlled and
repeatable publishing process that ensures rapid
throughput of high-quality images and patches into
production environments.
Client Automation Suite automatically detects a device
(including devices in a pre-execution environment),
discovers hardware and software asset information, sets
policies for its use, and registers new devices.
Web-based administration manages operating systems
across heterogeneous platforms from any location to any
location with the Configuration Management portal
software.
